So I'm reading random gaming sites looking for something to try and the game that kept coming up was this Vanguard game i heard bad things about. Let me give a brief history before i start. From my understanding, Sigil, the developer of the game went under making the game and was eventually bought out by SOE. The game was released in 2007 and had one of the worst launches in MMO history with bugs, unfinished aspects, and so forth.

Here we are 3 years later and the game is still going. The population is obviously low and yes the game is slowly dying due to a lack of updates by SOE. The rumor being that Sony is purposely killing the game off because they don't want it to compete with their baby EverQuest 2. Regardless of all that, the game has mostly an older player base due to the way it's set up. For one it's difficult and there are zero, that's right ZERO, instances. What it does have is a ridiculous amounts of dungeons, somewhere around 75 i believe. They're all open world and freaking huge. Did i also mention that the game world is huge also? It's probably the largest game world of any MMO. I can see why the kiddies and a lot of other people would be turned off by it, but i think it's fantastic.

You have your typical 15 classes split up between 19 races. Not all classes are playable by every race. besides combat and dungeons (there's a dungeon finder option), there's also a diplomacy aspect that i didn't get to fully explore during my free trial, which seems really interesting. All in all it seems like a great game and a lot of fun and it's a shame that it's not getting any funding. There does seem to be a resurgence of players giving this sleeping giant a chance.

  Running around on Ranger.
Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

Flying on my pegasus up to a temple on top of a mountain and proceeding to die countless times trying to solo a dungeon built for groups.
Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

Standing around a home point sort of thing after i got whooped on my Warrior.
Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

Made a vid of my level 5 warrior running around doing a quest inside a cave.
