Steparu uploaded a freaking amazing Black Desert Online city tour video.  There's absolutely nothing i can say that'll do this video justice aside from the obvious amazing visual and art style quality.  It totally reminds me of how fantastic GW2's cities are compared to every other MMO but that may just be my love for Divinity's Reach talking.  I am unfortunately bummed that Black Desert is going the action combat with no trinity route but i'm still looking forward to giving it a try at some point.

I decided to begin working on collecting some mounts to add to my abysmally low count i currently have. Having fewer than ten starting bumming me out and motivated me to get going.  For some unknown reason i set my sights on Stonecore and the Vitreous Stone Drake mount.  Going in i heard a lot of horror stories from people chasing this lovely 1% drop rate chance mount but that never deters me.

Well, i don't know if they upped the drop rate or if i just got ridiculously lucky, but seven attempts later and it's sitting in my collection!  That 1/7 pretty much took me less than 2 hours from when i decided to go.  So either the drop rate was increased or i'm going to get a lot of hate.  Either way, I'm happy it didn't take long and now i can move on to the next challenge.  I'm sure the next mount will decide to elude me to make up for this one.

We come to the fourth and final boss of the first wing of Siege of Orgimmar.  This just happens to be my favorite fight of the first wings for two reasons.  The first being that i love AoE fights and this one doesn't disappoint with all the little adds spawning all over.  The second reason being that so many people seem to fail the mechanics on Swelling Pride and end up all dropping like flies at the same time.  It's hilarious, sort of depressing, but can always be counting on to occur.

It's been almost five months since i started playing WoW for the first time.  I realized how much I've been slacking when it comes to recording in game footage, which i love to do.  I've done pretty much none!  The only downside is of course i'm limited to doing so in either Looking for Raid or random Flex groups, which are sometimes pretty decent.

It's not all that bad depending on which days i decide to attempt some runs.  It's certainly not a dedicated raid group of course, but i don't have time for that right now.  Perhaps once the expansion drops, i'll look into something a little more serious, but for now this will have to do.

The first boss - Immerseus.

What an i say except that i love a good character creator.  I'd say 90% of the ones we have today are terrible, especially from western development studios.  I understand the coins flips the other way when we start talking about content but it's still no excuse for the junk creators we get over here in the west.

Leave it to yet another Korean MMO to step up the character creation game.  This time it's Pearl Abyss and their sandbox Black Desert which will allow us to seemingly customize almost every aspect of our appearance.  It's pretty remarkable what we're going to be able to do.  If the game follows the normal Eastern MMO path then everything else about the game will be subpar and we won't see it for another 2 years.  For now i can only dream we get something like this in a western game at some point.

I'm pretty let down with the collection of odd and silly character names i managed to collect during my time in FFXIV.  I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise that the quantity is way below that of my GW2 collection considering i only lasted a few months in the game.  I'm sure given the same amount of playtime, i could have managed a much larger list with a lot more interesting names.  Regardless, i still had fun capturing as many interesting names as i could and am still amazed at the variety of silliness.

World of Warcraft Engineering

I hate crafting.  In reality, i dislike crafting in its current form in MMO's.  I suppose i have a certain old school view of what crafting should be and how far we've deviated from that.  When crafting is easy and everyone can do it, then it becomes a pointless endeavor that's simply a disguised money sink.

I've always felt crafting should be this difficult and long journey that only a select few dedicated players would ever actually reach max level in.  Something that requires an entire guild funneling materials to a certain person to help them along and in turn be rewarded with badass items that were out of reach of mere mortals. That exclusivity is what's missing.  That goes for a lot of other aspects as well, not just crafting.

So i decided to suck it up and level my first profession ever in WoW and i of course chose engineering.  It made the most sense from a DK perspective if only for the availability of Synapse Springs.  While a minimal increase to DPS, it's still an increase and that's all i was looking for.  Crafting some interesting mounts, including the chopper mount, factored into my decision as well of course.  Then Blizzard decided to ruin my fun with the 6.0 Alpha patch notes!

I can't complain i suppose.  At the end of the day, i'll have some cool mounts and new pets.  What more could a DK as for?  Army of the Dead back?!

So i logged in today and completely forgot what day it was.  My UI treated me to a lovely scene i did not expect and most certainly was not prepared for.  I'm normally alt tabbed while loading into the game so when i tabbed back, i was greeted by this lovely image.  I must say, it did put a smile on my face once i realized what the hell was going on.
