Continuing on with my mount hunt had me back fighting Malygos once again.  I figured my luck had ran out after acquiring the Headless Horesman's mount earlier.  Well it came as a huge surprise when my second mount of the day showed up in the loot window.  Hurray for the Azure Drake mount i suppose.  More like, hurray for not having to do this instance anymore.

Azure Drake

The hilarity of not having the proper riding skill on my alt to even use the item hit me as i stared at the red text on the tool tip.  It was 4k well spent though, and really, i was meaning to get that license sooner or later.  Now he's broke but riding on a hot new mount.  So ghetto, as one of my friends would say.  I'd have to agree.

Azure Drake

It brings my mount total to a staggering and unheard of 44!  Yes yes i know it's a super low amount but i haven't been really going after them at all really.  That was until i saw the mount you get for collecting 250.  It's green.  It's fel fire.  I must have!  Felfire Hawk shall be mine.

Hurray for having a few alts i suppose.  I've been doing the Headless Horseman dungeon every day on my five characters mostly and really only in hopes of the mount dropping.  Today was the day i guess and right before a rolling restart.  Perhaps i'm on to something here!  The beauty of the mount is that it looks great on the ground or in the air.  It's sort of a two in one type deal without the clunky movements that most flying mounts have on the ground.  Plus it's green and since most of my transmogs happen to be that color, it goes with everything.

I've been working on my Hunter set for what feels like forever now.  Every piece i was looking for I've had for months and months now except one.  The dreaded Golden Bow of Quel'Thalas from Sunwell Plateau had been eluding me .  After 14 weeks of terrible RNG, the damn bow finally dropped for me which completed my transmog set.  What other theme would a Hunter have other than green of course.  I now realize that every class i have other than Mage has a green themed set. Perhaps it's time to change it up a bit but after the headache this bow was, i think Hunter is staying green.

What better way to celebrate my first Hallow's End than riding around on my new Horde chopper?  Eat your heart out Ghost Rider.  This is how you do it in style.  At least as much style as an Orc can have i suppose. Good thing i can cover up all that ugly with a giant pumpkin.  Yes it's loud and quite obnoxious when everyone around you has one as well, but still worth the oncoming headache.

Hallow's End

I had planned on rounding up as many treats as i could for the Lich King outfit but I've been slacking on completing all the achievements.  I may still finish it in the next week or so but i have a lot of continents left to go and no motivation to do so.  The outfit itself should be plenty motivation, and it would be if it lasted an hour while in combat, but i believe the duration is pretty short.  Still, i'll get back to it soon.  For now it's time to roll.

With The Iron Tide pre-patch came a new quest chain in The Blasted Lands by the Dark Portal. Being as this is my first "event' in WoW, i was left really disappointed with the rather lackluster content leading into the expansion.  The most exciting aspect of my entire time doing these mundane kill quests was actually having to deal with the pruning of stats and abilities.  If it were not for that and the new character models and animation, i'd have fallen asleep at the iron wheel.  It was really that lame.

The Dark Portal

I was expecting something a little more exciting than just kill quests.  Going into it i was expecting some sort of world boss fight or new dungeon to go with the event.  You know, something more involved and interesting than what we got.  Why Blizzard didn't tie in the new Upper Blackrock Spire into the quest line is beyond me. Group content is what MMO's are all about for me so it made no sense why we didn't get anything other than more solo boredom.  Maybe i'm alone in this or maybe my previous two MMO's (Rift & GW2) spoiled me when it came to events.  Blizzard could learn a thing or two in this department.

The Dark Portal

Is this normal for a pre-patch?  Have all the previous ones been just like this or is this just an anomaly?  How do players accept this when the competition does events so much better?  Maybe i just don't get it.  Maybe i'm part of the problem and just expect more.  I don't believe that for a second though.

The one aspect i was looking forward to the most with patch 6.0.2 that dropped today was the stat squish.  The explosion in numbers got completely out of hand and started to influence raid design and mechanics.  I mean how many bosses did we have to take to 0% multiple times per encounter just to cope with the old system?  It was ridiculous and a much needed change.  Did Blizzard go too far or not far enough?

My Unholy Death Knight's numbers dropped dramatically and yet i still have close to 100k health.  I honestly would not have minded an even greater reduction to a tenth of that but i'm sure old content had a lot to do with the numbers they chose.  Overall it's a good start and my hope is that it never gets this out of hand again. It's your turn now EQ2.

With 6.0 around the corner, i was frantically trying to finish off my fifth and final legendary cloak. Well it happened just in time for my Shaman after a few weeks of horrible luck.  I say final because there's no way in hell i'm doing another one of these quests in this expansion.  I've never been more sick of a raid tier than i am of Siege of Orgrimmar.  The thought of starting another cloak quest, not that i could until i level another class, sends shivers down my spine.  It's done though and i can relax and look forward to starting fresh in the expansion.  Welcome to the cloak club you green monster.

With Warlords of Draenor only a month and a half away, I've been trying to farm myself an account bound normal weapon off Garrosh for as many characters as i can.  As per my usual luck, it hasn't gone so well over these last few months.  While they were supposed to be around a 10% drop chance, i was getting into my 13th kills without even a scent of a drop.  I knew that these would be 100% drops once 6.0 goes live but it was the principal of the thing!  Then the unthinkable happened.

On back to back kills for my DK and Hunter, the RNG gods decided to work in my favor and award me with the axe and bow.  Both situations were hysterical because i wasn't really paying attention to the loot of either.  I was in one of those mindsets where i wasn't expecting anything and was just going on with my day.  Both times i was made aware of drops from people sending me whispers with congratulations.  I should have known.

I'm very superstitious in my gaming and in the sports that i either play or watch.  Over the many years i have come to realize that the RNG gods are evil little buggers.  The more you want something, the lower that dice roll goes in your favor.  Staring at the loot table in anxious anticipation is a sure fire way to tip the balance against you.  The gods are watching and it's their job to mess with you.  Boy do they enjoy messing with you.

The best way to deal with them is to simply not give a shit.  It sounds easy and for some it is, but i know many people that can't do it.  The trick isn't as simple as not believing. You have to acknowledge their existence while at the same time ignoring them.  If you want that elusive drop just stop thinking about it!

Or maybe i'm just crazy.
