Ald Demo

Thanks to a guild mate, who happens to be a founder, i snagged myself a Landmark beta key.  I've only really been in game for a few hours so i'm pretty much just running around getting the hang of the game. While I've watched dozens of videos of other players and their creations, i haven't had the chance to dig into any building just yet myself.  For now I'm just gathering as many resources as i can find while scoping out other player's claims.

I do have two initial qualms with the game after just a few hours.  The lack of a zoom in and out option as well as the lack of a mouse sensitivity option is driving me bonkers.  I typically like my camera turns to be super quick and really tight.  I feel like I'm playing in slow motion or keyboard turning even.  I'm sure these will get addressed at some point but they were the only two issues i found so far.  Off to stake my claim (after i figure out how)!

After almost three months, i finally finished off my legendary cloak quest.  I guess I'm officially a superhero now minus the flying part!  The quest itself is gated behind an honor points grind, which takes a minimum of three weeks, and three separate specific currency requirements.

All i can say is i found the currency requirements a bit silly but i understand why they did it the way they did. On one hand, it's completely ridiculous having to farm the same two raids over and over for different currencies depending on what chapter you happen to be on at the time.  On the other, it ensures that there's always players wanting to do the current content over and over.

In the end i thought it was a much better system than FFXIV's relic quest (which can be done in a day) and GW2's legendary quest (which measured how deep your pockets were).  All of these are still far off compared to old school relic/legendary quests but it's still nice having long term goals that take longer than a month to complete.  I remember working on my relic great sword in FFXI for over four years and never finishing.  I hear that quests is super easy now as well unfortunately.  Anyways, it's cloak time!

I took advantage of the ridiculous exp bonus provided by the recruit a friend program to get my second class to 90.  While i typically hate pet classes, and this one is no exception, i decided to get my Hunter to max. I've always loved petless rangers and archers so i play hunter just like one!  I'm absolutely horrid at pet management but that's what the pet resurrect is for.  I shoot stuff and let my pet do whatever it wants.

It's hilarious that i originally intended to use my free boost to 90 on a hunter a few weeks ago before the expansion pre-order was announced.  Gaining level after level at a ridiculous pace during the past few weeks allows me to save that feature for another class.  At this point, i have no idea what that will be.

I normally never play female characters, with the exception of Korean MMO's, but i went with a female blood elf.  I mean, how could i go wrong with a female blood elf hunter?  The LFR journey now begins.  "Don't Stop Believing".
